Fun! – We enjoyed their pork ribs and chicken today. The dark meat of the chicken was superbly done but the breast was slightly dry. The ribs were melt-in-your mouth delicious though! Sides are good! We recommend the potatoe salad, macaroni salad, and cole slaw. The corn bread had a burnt bottom and they ran out of the two original items we meant to order, but the service was nice. We enjoyed it and will go back when the BBQ mood strikes.

Line up to take out smoky treats in the heart of Northeast. – The Scene Owner Wayne Cannon is reason to visit--he's friendly and swift at serving the droves of carnivores at the takeout window. All the meat-heavy sandwiches and dinners here are laced with Cannon's signature wood-smoky flavor and slathered with tangy-sweet or spicy barbecue sauce. The chicken and super-tender pork ribs are the standouts--dinners include half of a chicken or a huge mound of ribs, two sides and two pieces of white bread.

Can be great, can be pretty bad – This place is good for the cheaper items on the menu, for example, the bucket of rib tips. I'd recommend getting the sauce on the side as it can taste a bit overpowering when they pour it into the bucket. The sides are pretty bland, but this is a Q joint so that shouldn't count against them. The brisket can be a bit spotty, but when they do it right it's excellent. The ribs are pretty decent most times but they can get to be a bit pricey. If you want satisfying food for a game or something y... read more

There is so much better in PDX. – I wish I had read the reviews before eating here. The brisket was too fatty for consumption (an inch thick) and the meat lacked flavor. Even the sauce could not bring flavor to the meal. The side dishes were tasteless as well.

Delicious Food, Friendly Service – This place has an amazing beef brisket sandwich - it's a bit pricier but well worth it. The hot links are actually hot and really tasty, but the casing is a bit thick for my liking. I haven't tried the ribs but everyone tells me they're pretty good, too. The chicken was average. Sides are also good, but the Mac & Cheese was just okay. The owner, Wayne, is great - super friendly. I definitely recommend Cannon's.

ooof – Some of the worst bbq and so-called "soul food" I've ever had. Admittedly I am from the southeast and my man is from Texas, so we are spoiled by lip-smackin bbq, but if this is what northwesterners think is good ole southern cookin then I am going to cry.... The sauce is a'ight, nice flavor, a little smokey and a little sweet (the "spicy" or "hot" is very very mild), but the pork was almost pure fat and the veggies were a tasteless mush. The people were friendly, but it's about the food, right? I was really hoping thi... read more

What a disappointment – We decided to try this place for dinner. The cashier was friendly and helpful and they were fairly quick to get our order out. However, the food was aweful! We ordered BBQ chicken and pork ribs. The chicken was so dry, it was like chicken jerky. I'm serious. The ribs were not tender at all. I would not recommend this place at all.

BBQ as it should be done ! – the smoker goes all day and the smoke is the best sales tool: all come running!! all of their meats are beyond tender and the three sauce options are homemade and WITHOUT tons of sugar (as are most). Service is slow so don't go if you're starving and the lines are long: always a catch 22. outdoor dining is great and someone is usually there with a guitar. take home a chicken is a great option for home meals: meat falls off the bone.

Where's the food? – I have 3 prior experiences at Cannon's Ribs Express. The first time the meal was more than exceptional. The meat literally fell from the bone. Everything was great. The 2nd time I went the meat was tough and soaked in BBQ sauce. The 3rd and final time was yesterday. I ordered the half chicken dinner to go. When I got home there were two small pieces of chicken. One was a small drumbstick and the other was a rib with virtually no meat on it. The two sides were places in dirty containers that sat next to th... read more
