Get a Second Opinion We took our dog there when he got hurt because it was only a mile away from our house. Big mistake. The vet gave us the wrong diagnosis saying that we needed to get emergency surgery on his back knee. Also, as she was checking him over I was asking questions that she just never answered. Long story short we took him to our usual vet in Oregon & they rediagnosed the injury and it healed on its own 2 years later we have still had no issues with his knee!
Walk-In Clinic With a Heart We first went to Candlin after finding a stray cat in our neighborhood. Since they are a walk-in clinic, we were able to take the cat over at our convenience and they examined the cat, then scanned the microchip and located the owner for us, not even charging us for the exam. We really liked the experience, so when we adopted a cat of our own, we returned to Candlin. They are very good with Trout and he loves it when the tech cleans his ears. Avoid Clinic We have had several problems with Candlin Pet Hospital. One resulting in the death of a pet, another with the near death of a pet (for a standard procedure) and multiple instances where the vet prescribed the wrong dosage of medicine. I would not bring a pet here even if it is for a minor procedure. If I could give Candlin negative stars I would.
Candlin Pet Hospital The Candlin Pet Hospital is located on Wingra Drive, near the Arby's on Park Street. We have been taking our pets there for more than ten years. The prices are very reasonable, and the employees seem compassionate.
