Our daughter who is 14 attended camp Shane in Wisconsin for the first time. I will start by saying it was the camps first time at this location. With that, it was still a hot mess! Not at all like the websites showed, Instagram and You Tube. Unfortunately the camp our daughter attended was run more like the Biggest Loser tv show rather than a nutrition and fitness camp for CHILDREN. Camp Shane is an amazing experience your child will never forget. I have made life long friends through Camp Shane. As someone who has struggled with my own weight for most of my life, I find it comforting and encouraging to be surrounded by those who understand the struggles that come when dealing with body image. Nice to see that all the reviews come from people who work there. This place needs to be shut down. It is awful!
I spent 9 summers at camp and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
Camp Shane will always be my second home. I went here for 2 years as a camper and those were the best summers I've had. Last year I came back as a counselor and I wanted to pay it forward and share my experience with campers. I'm coming back again this summer because it's a great place and there's no other place then camp Shane.
