AFter suffering a long time from terrible lower back pain. Dr. Carmody performed a 360 spinal fusion operation to relieve the pain. IT WORKED! From the day after the operation, I was pain free. A year later, I'm pain free. Dr. Carmody is a very skilled surgeon. I would recommend him without any reservations.
Dr. Carmody was absolutely excellent, if you need an excellent surgeon in the DFW area, he is it.
Dr Carmody performed surgery on me recently, two level cervical fusion. He and all his staff have been professional, caring, and friendly during this process. He was able to rule out other conditions prior to surgery and since I am already seeing a huge improvement. I would recommend this Dr to anyone.

Very smart, comforting spinal expert and surgeon. Was able to perform a surgery that 4 other spinal specialists either had not done before or would not. Dr. Carmody diagnosed my problem and took the time to explain to me my options and possible outcomes with each option. I have recommended him to a few other friends having similar problems and I will refer him anytime to anyone needing care. The appointment wait times have been a little longer than I would like (25-30 min), but the confidence I have in Dr. Carmody made my surgical decision much easier to make and more comfortable in having this type of surgery. This is a Dr. that cares about your well being!
Dr Carmody and staff are awesome and I am pain free after 8 weeks and off all meds. My spondylolysthesis was causing cold feet, shooting pain down right leg, numbness, and bad local back pain. All that is gone and I was back to work in 3 weeks. Back surgery can be a very scary thing but this guy knows what he's doing and I would do it all again!
I highly recommend Dr. Carmody! I am 32 years old and ruptured my L4 six years ago. I went through 4-5 doctors and did all the therapy and what not. When I found Dr. Carmody he explained everything completly and found that my L5, L5/S1 had collapsed and explained how he would fix it. He made me comfortable in my decision to have surgery. I was very pleased with Dr Carmody's services. He performed a discectomy for me after his colleague, Dr Dauber, had diagnosed a need for surgery. Dr Carmody was informative and easy to talk to.
