This place used to be really good when they first opened. After COVID came around, things declined rapidly as everything else did. They are steadily get better with their taste and flavors. However, cleanliness is lacking since the renovations they've made. Layers of dust cling to the ceiling fan and the vinyl flags hanging above the entire restaurant. Would definitely be 4.5 stars if time and care was taken into some general / food safe dusting.
I like California Taco Shop. We have been going there for years, but lately the food has been meh. You use to do birria tacos that were amazing. Serving of 2, crunchy and toasted with cheese. Now they are smaller and have no cheese. Not a good change. Also, I got a breakfast burrito in my most recent order with no fries. Common sense would tell you to put more eggs of some other filling to replace it..instead I was given a taco supreme in the shell of a burrito. Not good. I really like their barrio tacos!
Best tacos in the state! Always delicious. I love that they let you make pretty much everything vegetarian. The veggie taco Supremes and rice are phenomenal. This is also definitely the best location I've tried. The only thing is portions can be inconsistent and there definitely has been some shrinkflation in recent years. Other than that, you can't beat this place on flavor and price. So good! 🌮
