Blah I've eaten here a couple of times and both times have found the food to be 'okay'. Based on the prices charged, I'd like to see something a little more memorable. The atmosphere is nice. Last time I was here small gnats were flying around us the entire meal. Gross. Leave this restaurant for unsuspecting out-of-towners. Go to Steamers or Los Gatos Brewing Company if you want to build a positive memory and enjoy great food.
maurice b I have lived in Los Gatos for 20 years, and brought some out of town guests for dinner a month ago. The ambiance was great and the table staff and manager attentive. But the kitchen service was slow and when the food finally arrived it was COLD! I sent it back which delayed dinner even more.Last night the front did a good job for a while. Pleasant atmosphere I wouldn't suggest this place for any kind of dinner, and the bar is not very open and kind of dark, but for a lunch with family or a friend during the week or weekend, it has a lovely fresh selection of food, definitely more expensive than a sandwich out, but big booths and nice linens.
Good food, great atmosphere This is a great place to have a get together with some friends or to bring a date. The decor is simple but elegant, and the food is top notch. Some dishes put a bit of a strain on your wallet, particularly the steaks, but the pastas are very reasonably priced. Great Los Gatos Bar and Grill The California Cafe Bar and Grill in Los Gatos offers great food and wonderful service. During the day time you can check out all of the great stores that Los Gatos has to offer on University Ave. and grab a bite to eat during lunch time or even better yet grab a drink during the night hours.
