I have always liked Calico! I have lived in Barstow my entire life and have visited many times. The cost to get in this Mother's Day was $30! No discounts for mothers or seniors! That's what happens when the State runs things. $15 per person is a bit much. Good food at the restaurant and great entertainment. Everyone that worked this weekend was nice. They took extra time and visited with children. My husband, who was wearing his cowboy hat and had a nice curl on his mustache, was asked to take a picture with some tourists f... read more
I can't count how many times we had driven past the Calico Ghost Town sign on the 58 and had always intended to check it out. Well, we did yesterday and weren't disappointed. We had no idea that it was such a booming little place! We thought we'd drive thru an abandoned town then just go home. What a nice surprise. Great job to all who work there and keep it alive and happening! Well definitely be back!

It's anything but a ghost town. It's a small old west amusement/theme park. There are some cool old buildings, but everything has been updated. Thete are role players all around, and you have to pay to get in. If you want to go to a cool old west park that's smaller but better than Disney lands old west park, then this is the place for you. If they change the title to Calico, the old west silver minning town, it would be a perfect 5 star.
