I will not shop somewhere that treats customers of color with such disdain and abuse.
When I was new to Baton Rouge, years ago, I stopped in for my first groceries. I didn't realize my new debit card wasn't functioning yet. When it didn't go thru, the cashier, a mature adult, berated me loudly in front of other customers. I paid cash, and I haven't been back. Recurring theme, apparently. Bad PR, Calandros. Treat people well.
Calandros--do the right thing and apologize. And then train your staff to deal politely and decently with ALL your customers.
I have used Calandros for specialty products for 20 years, not because you are better than other local grocers, but because you were the closest to my first home in Baton Rouge. Since then, I have continued to use Calandros as a default. Now you have set yourself apart from the others, and not in a good way.
