Enjoy the bustle, but not the food – When the tiny glasses of wine filled to the brim appeared I thought, "Oh, how nice! It's cute and Italian and fits with the bustling, noisy setting!" BTW - Bustling and noisy is a compliment. I wanted urban anonymity, which isn't easy to find in the Triangle. But when the bread came out, one touch told me it was dense, flavorless, and cold. Tired – This restaurant looks and feels like its on its last legs. The food is terrible, heated up, unimaginitive and out of a tin I imagine. Everything in this place smacks of cost cuts. Grimy glasses and dinner ware. Uninterested staff. The location is saving it from what would be sure bankruptcy anywhere else. I wouldnt recommend it at all.
Excellent meal – I left Caffe Luna thinking to myself, I can't wait to bring my girlfriend here. The food was great! I ordered the Linguini Fra Deavolo which was made in a spicy tomato sauce, simply awesome. After eating the Linguini I managed to find or make room for the Cheesecake...I'm a sucker for cheesecake and this was the icing to a excellent meal. The staff and I believe the owner were all very courteous and helpful. Great place for a business meeting or a lunch or dinner date.
Great food BUT served too fast... – Caffe Luna is a great, romantic little place to enjoy dinner. The food was very good (especially the portobello appetizer and the lobster ravioli) and reasonably priced, and the dimly lit open dining room and local artwork made for a romantic setting. My only complaint is that the food was served MUCH too fast--it would have been nice to be able to taste and appreciate our wine before getting our main course. love it – one of the best italian restaurants in the area. great personal service. and and excellent value for the money. far better than any 'chain' restaurant. terrific and eclectic food/atmosphere.
Pass the garlic – Caffe Luna is my favorite downtown restaurant. The food is always just right and the service has been great. Parker is wonderful!
What is this, "beat the clock?" – With a wait staff undoubtedly trained by the pit crews of NASCAR, this place is officially off my speed dial. Don't get me wrong--the food is really good and the decor reminiscent of a favorite Roman trattoria--there's just no time to enjoy it. Terrible Hostess, Front-end Service – You would think that making a reservation for 5pm the day before would be a request easy to handle. Wrong! Those that greet you do not bother to read the reservation book. In fact I was told by the Hostess herself, "Oh NO, I did not bother to read the Reservation made" We Walked out and enjoyed an excellent meal elsewhere. The Owner never called to apologize even though he had the Dr's Name and phone number, in the reservation book. Be warned.
Good food--Great service – Lots of other reviewers complained that they felt rushed and crowded, but I went on a busy Friday night and enjoyed it very much. It was a bit loud, but that's to be expected when there are other people around you. The service was maybe the best ever--very professional, very attentive.
