Best Casual Italian Anywhere! – Caffe Luna is a Casual Italian diamond located in downtown Raleigh on the corner of Hargett and Blount streets. Of course, we dined the evening of the grand opening of Fayetteville Street so the place was packed. Reservations were at 7:30 and we're stuck in traffic, so I struck out on foot to secure the table while my escort found a parking place. I ran into our other dining campanions on the way and we collectively got the table. Parker Kennedy, the owner, sat us promptly. Parker is always th... read more

Love the Chicken Parm - great wine list, friendliest place in Raleigh! – Some people have such silly pet peeves - the host is excellent, the food is great, priced right and service is excellent. The pace is perfect - if you want to be romantic, go to some fancy schmancy "upscale" French Bistro and get a 7 course meal. True, the menu is not enormous, but I would rather have a restaurant do 24 things right than 48 halfway. I have been going there for six years, never had a problem, and if I did, I would not hesitate to bring i... read more

Urban atmosphere and fresh Italian cuisine make this restaurant a downtown favorite. – In Short Caffe Luna could be an ultra-trendy trattoria, but the atmosphere is too comfortable and the service too sincere. Arched doorways, picture windows and high ceilings, however, provide plenty of sophistication. Warm Mediterranean colors, wood floors and the backdrop of conversation feel instantly intimate. A simple Italian menu prepared well includes a paper-thin tuna carpaccio seasoned with zingy citrus and salty capers. The seafoo... read more

If You Have Food Allergies Beware – As an individual with food allergies, I sympathize with all restaurants and provide a card listing what I cannot eat. Professional chefs understand how to use this information, and appreciate the effort. My allergies are not life threatening. Unfortunately, the owner would not listen and made a phenomenal scene. He created an entire event in front of 12 friends and room full of others, complete with armwaving as he described how he could not feed me and would take no responsibility for any... read more

Great customer service – Have been there several times for lunch and the experience has been consistently good, they remember their customers and treat them as special. The food is great and the service attentive. The ambience is simple and elegant.

Great Restaurant with Rustic Charm – I went to Cafe Luna for the first time last night. The hostess did seem like it was her first day on the job, but the manager was there to seat us immediately. Even though there was a huge party in one of the back rooms, our service was excellent. I got a crabmeat linguine, which was EXCELLENT and the serving size was big enough that my boyfriend ate almost half of it in addition to his delicious jumbo shrimp. All in all, it is definitely a great place to eat. The only suggestion I have i... read more

I used to like this place – This is a very very noisy restaurant. The high ceilings add to the noise. The service used to be better but recently we had a very bad experience. We had the misfortune of being seated near the window corner where an important friend of the owner was seated. The owner went out of his way tripping over the friend and sending the wait staff over while ignoring us. Our water glasses went empty and stayed that way, service was unbelievably slow while the staff buzzed around the table with the friend l... read more

I love Caffe Luna – This place has the best italian food in downtown Raleigh. You get a big portion, attentive service, and the food is a deal at lunch and is worth the dinner price too. I highly recommend.

Romantic-NOT!! – First, of all I don't even know why Cafe Luna is in the Romantic category at all. It is very noisy, there is too much lighting and the food is not even that good. For the amount that you end up paying at Cafe Luna, I say you better go somewhere else!
