I not sure I ever thanked Andrew for making our 50th Aniversary Dinner a wonderful and memorable experience. We have been eating at the Caffe Gelato since the day they opened and have celabrated many anniversaries and birthdays there. Not a good experience. Waiter was the worse I’ve had In a long time. Was hard to understand and not very friendly. Had to keep looking for him. Was supposed to get wine with my Pasta and he took my glass away. I thought to fill it. After 10 mins I had to ask for it. Food was good but they need to be clear about their specials. Had to question my bill which was wrong. We will not be back as this was a horrible Birthday Dinner for my Girlfriend.
My husband and I were here with our 21-month old granddaughter for an early dinner. On a positive note, the service was attentive. We shared a bruschetta appetizer. I got the ravioli del giornio (vegetable) & my husband got the tenderloin tip tortellini. The bruschetta was sliced white bread, chopped tomatoes & diced sharp cheese. It was mediocre at best. Just had the worst experience we’ve ever had at a place we generally regard as a go-to in Newark. Terrible server. Got our appetizer even before our drinks, then waited over 30 mins for our entrees, and server was a no show. Ended up taking our food to go. Will not be back any time soon.
