You won't be disappointed – Although crowded and noisy, the food is to die for. the best northern Italian we have ever had. This place is about QUALITY. Check the hours, not open lunch or Sundays (I think) Realy worth the wait for a special place. The wine selection is great too Their house wine has become one of our FAV's.
TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE QUALITY – I went to Cafe Bella with great expectations, but was very disappointed. The menu was different, but not very enticing. The food was ok, not great. The pricing was HIGH. Little value for the dollar. I'll stay with LaScala's --more value for the money.
Best Food - fresh and very well prepared! – This is one of my most favorite restaurants. Although the accustics make it a loud space, the food is always excellent. The fish is always super fresh and prepared just perfectly. It doesn't matter what you get you can expect that it will taste like a home meal that you don't have the patience to prepare. Not what it used to be – Group of eight of us to celebrate an anniversary were left wanting. Have been customers for ten years. Soggy pizza crust, overdressed salad, cold entrees (duck and tuna dishes) show a lack of attention and complacency on part of the kitchen and staff. Kate is the best – I travel through New England on business once a month and always schedule my trip around this fantastic restaurant. It ranks up there with any of the better places in the North End and is actually more delicious and more creative. Kate the bartender is one of the reasons I go there also. She always gives me a warm welcome and makes this New Yorker feel right at home in Beantown. Excellent food. Kate, the bartender, is not very welcoming or friendly. – I love Cafe Bellas. Their food is unbelievable. The pork, salmon, and tuna are my favorite entrees. The appetizers are excellent. The figs and sashimi are great. The portions are larger than most establishments that serve such great quality food. Honest food/Finest Quality/AMAZING!!! – This is simply one of the best restaurants my wife and I have had the pleasure to enjoy! Arriving early is a must, and the wait is always challenging, but the experience is unbelievable. Great Food....nasty hostess – OK the food is great, but you will wait forever unless you are willing to "pay off" the hostess....on our long wait she continued to seat people (her friends or regulars) that came in long after we did...and she is not very friendly if you ask when you may be seated....also, if you try to sit at the bar and not eat while you are waiting for a table, the bartender is nasty as well....if the food was not so damn good I would never go back....the wait staff on the other hand are wonderful...so once... read more
PAYING OF THE HOSTESS CAN CURB THE WAIT – DURING MY 4 1/2 HOUR DINNER(6PM-10:30PM) I SAW THE HOSTESS TAKING MONEY TO SEAT REGULARS AHEAD OF MY PARTY OF FOUR. WE WAITED 90 MINUTES TO SIT.THIS WAS ON SATURDAY, DEC 1ST.
