Cafe Ole

About this business

Cafe Ole is one of the best places in Memphis to eat outside. Located in the Cooper-Young Historic District, an area of restored houses and antique shops, it is perfect for a leisurely afternoon or a casual dinner with friends. The salsa served with chips is outstanding. Other specialties include the vegetarian enchiladas and the black beans and rice. Standard Mexican combination plates are also popular, and the margaritas pack a potent punch. Inside, the decor is a bit rough-and-tumble, with a few colorful Mexican objects s... read more

Greatests Mexican Cuisine not made by Hispanics. The food here is Amazing. My favorite dish is the black bean and spinach enchiladas. All the food is very well prepared here, so anything you choose will be tasty I'm sure. The area is very nice as well. The Cooper Young area in midtown helps create this resturant a fun and very modern atmosphere. On the weekends the service can be a little slow, but only because it's so incredibly busy. PROS: great food; reasonable prices CONS: Busy on the weekends

Right Action...and - "Cafe Ole is a must dine!" There are effective ways to resolve an issue to make a point about cranky MODs or others at any establishment. I really like Cafe Ole, and one person's bad day or rude attitude isn't going to keep me from enjoying Cafe Ole time-and-time again. Call them and ask to speak with an owner. If one's/he's/she's not there - ask when they are available - they will welcome your concerns and input. Telling folks to avoid a place isn't the way to resolve an issue or gain "justice". Cafe Ol... read more

One bad apple can spoil a bunch!! I am usually very satisfied with this establishment...I love the food, love the atmosphere...It's really a fun laid-back spot to have a good time...Based on the above statement I just made I was very surprised and highly disappointed in the service I received yesterday. The manager on duty Rico was extremely rude. He really ruined what started off as a regular fun time like always. When we tried to speak with him about the issue at hand we were rudely dismissed by him telling us "whatever" b... read more

Great Food The food is great, especially the fish tacos. The menu is very fresh and versatile. The margaritas are small, expensive, and pre-mixed - go elsewhere for great ones. Service is always friendly, although it can be slow.

Great Mexican Food! Cafe Ole is in the heart of Midtown, a great location where tons of college students flock to. The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and never rude. A great fun atmosphere for a group of friends to have an awesome night!

Not a place for good mexican food Pro: Lively Environment, friendly people. Cons: Food is not what it's made up to be. Limited Menu: that is similar to Chilli's & probably inspired by them too. Had a few of the items on the menu. Fajita: bad, any mexican place should be able to stir up a fajita. not a grilled piece of meat with vegetables and mozzarella on the side. The tortilla's were probably from kroger and warmed in a microwave. Taco, please make it simple. fresh tortilla, little meat, chopped onions and cilantro. Chimic... read more

Tastey mexican in a fun environment Moreso in the heart of the Cooper Young district, Cafe Ole is the place to get some delicious Mexican food and fill up on margaritas. I'm a lightweight, so while Randi thinks the drinks aren't as strong, they'll do it for me. ;) Prices are fair, wait staff is friendly, and it's just located in one of the coolest parts of town.
