A Morning Must I have to say that I'm not an everyday coffee drinker, probably because I don't wake up that early. But on those tough mornings there is no place better to stroll down to the 976. It's a really peaceful place to just jump start the day and get your head on straight. Everyone who works there are great and the coffee isn't half bad either. I can't say much about the food because I have never ate there but an awesome place to start the day.
I was hired by the original owners while the building was being gutted. They brought me from Pannikin, or I should say bought me. My job was to create a kitchen, a bar, seating areas, bath, menu, staff, open all accounts and get Cafe 976 rolling. This was early 90's. It was a chore. My original kitchen staff was Paz and Faustina, and I recall fondly many people who I hired to serve at the counter like Tom, Jennifer, Heather, Erin, and Shawn. That had to be nearly 25 years ago. We left yesterday late morning after having been seated for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement or any appearance of waitstaff. Sorely disappointed as the menu looked amazing! 😞
Awesome atmosphere, great service and super fresh and tasty breakfast
My first time, what a cute place! The food was delicious and not overpriced, great selection of teas!
If your going to be pretentious, you should at least be good. The coffee was great the food and service were horrible. The waiter even took my plate while I was still eating. The bread was Hard. Just awful.
