This Tex-Mex restaurant draws college students, families and area residents to its upper-Northwest location. A roomy dining area and outdoor patio provide plenty of space for patrons looking to enjoy a leisurely meal. The restaurant is usually busy, especially on weekends, when patrons flock to the restaurant's large bar. The margaritas may be more famous than anything else on the menu, but the enchiladas, tacos and other Tex-Mex entrees are also nicely prepared.

Excellent food and, fortunately, I haven't had the problems with service that others have written about. Weather permitting, I love to sit on the patio, feel the breeze, and enjoy the wealth of people-watching on Wisconsin Avenue.

When I came in today to ask for a table, a tale gentleman not in uniform asked if I needed help and I said yes, we need a table for 3. He looked at him, smiled and walked away...� um ok. It's been less than a year that I've been here and their menu has certainly changed. My favorite is the cantina salad with chicken, but now there is no protein that comes with the salad... I went to cactus cantina Saturday night and order a martini and it was served in a water glass instead of a martini glass ( was disappointed) also ordered a small Chix and spinach quesadilla and it was a special and was give a spinach one . For a restaurant that's always busy how can the service be so bad ??? The only good thing was bar manager didn't have me pay and apologized for the inconvenience
The food was fantastic. The ambiance was good but very loud!
