I was grateful my son was being very well supported receiving therapy at Caboolture CYMHS Offices. However, transitioning to seeing the AMYOS (North) outreach team was a mistake I will always regret. If you are considering using the AMYOS north service, be aware that they can make things difficult, if you bring up concerns about your child/teens progress with them. Not good, don't bother. Just save up and go to a psychologist from your own pocket. Their funding is limited due to government cutting health services and the quality of care is pretty poor. I don't understand why people are not high enough on the mental health scale ladder to receive care. Like an earlier review said, have to be almost dead to be seen by anyone here. Harmful wrap-around "care" with worker who openly mocked parent in front of the child; criticised parenting choices, using their own personal parenting choices as defence (in direct opposition with national, state and even worldwide community health guidelines, claiming to never have heard of those guidelines); appeared to have no awareness of the needs and presentations of children on the autism spectrum, diminishing a critcal mental health crisis down to a momentary "tantrum".
