Wonderful experience. Owner/Chef is super nice - not to mention an excellent cook. Staff was very attentive. Will definitely be making a return trip.

Looked on the web page 2 hours before heading that way to get an idea how to dress. Changed clothes from jeans thinking this was a nice place. Made a 45 minute drive to be turned away at 7:00 p.m on a Friday night, and not very nicely. There were a total of two cars in the parking lot and not one person seated at a table. So this was our second visit to Buttermilk Hill Restaurant in Sylacauga, AL. The only reason we don't go more often is that it is 60 miles from Alabaster. The restaurant is in a 100+ year old Victorian home. The owner lives upstairs. It is a somewhat informal white tablecloth restaurant. Bread pudding great. I had scallops and husband had strip steak. Both were excellent


Ate dinner one night with girlfriends. Food was wonderful. Went back with husband and food was even better. Steak was so tender you didn't need a knife. Husband loved scallops. Bread pudding was delicious, almost like a soufflé. Hidden gem that deserves more attention.
