Unproffesional Liars I went into Business Careers in Seattle about four weeks ago and met with Seth. When I got to the office, I was greeted by their robotic receptionist with a fake smile and asked to take a seat. Seth came out and I was escorted into a huge room full of young "car salesman" looking guys. Seth talked to me about my skills and what I am looking for in a job. He acted like he was very confident about my skills and said that it would be no problem finding me a position. He said "wow, I'm really excited about y... read more
Alle at Business Careers is wonderfulâ I read the many negative reviews, but decided to give these guys a shot for myself after seeing one of the positions they had listed on craigslist. I figured that the job seeking process is stressful and everyone reacts differently to stress, hence, maybe, some of the very emotional reviews. Sure it's hard to park downtown, sure you have to fill out an application (no-one asks your license plate # as I read in one of the reviews), but, what's so surprising about any of that? I met wit... read more
Average recruiter You can expect your recruiter to find you a few interviews, but the positions usually won't be exactly what you're looking for. The recruiters get paid for finding you a job, so there's always the chance that they put their interests before yours and try to stick you in jobs that you don't want. I was offered a job from an interview they got me, but it wasn't what I was looking for and I felt like the recruiter resented me because I didn't accept the job.
A Huge Waste of Time I applied for a job through Business Careers online and was contacted the next day for an initial interview to determine what type of job would best fit me. Even without any real job experience I was assured that they could do something for me, given my college degree. I even stressed that I would be willing to start out at a relatively low position, given my inexperience. I met the next day with a recruiter, had a 20 min. interview, after which he assured me he would get right on trying to find a job fo... read more
Worthless and Pathetic As others have written, zero stars is the appropriate score. I noticed an ad one day for a job in the newspaper that looked worth applying for. It happened to be through Business Careers. I have had a few years experience as a professional, as well as a college degree. Thinking it would not do me any harm; I submitted my application. They called me to come in for an interview, and where I met a woman who was obviously working on commission. I left the interview thinking I would not be wasting my time t... read more
Bait and Switch What a complete waste of time. I wonder if any of the jobs they advertise are really jobs at all. I inquired about a job listing and when I was contacted it was as if they had no idea who I was or even what their own listing contained. I was given information on a completely different position that paid far less than what was advertised with a different set of work hours and benefits. Seems to be a bait and switch operation. Very deceptive. Save yourself the time and aggravation and find a reputable, professi... read more
Professional, Personalized Placement I am confounded by the polar reviews of Business Careers on a number of sites. They all seem to be either one star or five. Personally, my experience was five stars all the way. I applied for an administrative position through a Craigslist ad. I was contacted shortly by Dana Clemens, who asked me to come in and meet with her. She was polite, courteous, engaged, and straight-forward about the strengths and weaknesses of my resume and application. She helped me play up the good parts and st... read more
Horrible service in Seattle and Bellevue. I had read the bad reviews, but decided to try Business Careers Seattle out anyway. I met with Vera McGeer, who has since left the company, and she was awesome! I loved her! She tried really hard to get me interviews (I ended up getting only 1), and always got back to me as quickly as I emailed/phoned her. After she left the company, I was called by someone out of the Bellevue office, who informed me that she had left, and asked me to please resend my resume' - which I did, immediate... read more
