About this business

Ever wonder why there's a cue snaking out of that red curtain in the lobby ofLe Parker Meridien? It's because in the middle of this swanky hotel, tucked away, is the most basic hole-in-the-wall Burger Joint. This casual no frills restaurant, with scribbles on the walls, pinned up art and it's iconic neon sign attracts an eclectic crowd. Serving only three kinds of burgers, fries and beer in a cup, this cash only joint is extremely popular. Drop by for a delicious burger, and enjoy the fact that you get to wait in an air-cond... read more

Be an – This place is an awesome lunch spot that used to be one of New York's best kept secrets. Well, the secret is out. I work near by and lunch there often, the key is to arrive close to the opening time which is 11:30 on weekdays. The staff are experts, their accuracy and efficiency is unparallel. Also, go in the evening for relative quiet and linger over burgers, fries and the pitchers of beer.

Can't get the doneness right? – It's amazing, but a place that specializes in cooking burgers should be able to figure out how to cook a medium rare burger. Many times it comes out of the kitchen too well done, which is not fun after waiting in a long line.

THE BEST! CAME FROM CT FOR THIS BURGER AND IT WAS WORTH THE TRIP! – SOOOOOO worth the wait, the $$, and the "hunt" to find it! Best burger in the city, hands down. I'm still shocked at some of the reviews that complain about the cost. Where the heck in NYC can you eat for less than that, and still have decent food? I mean, I'm sure McD's is a little less expensive (not by much) but you get what you pay for. These burgers are awesome, charred on the outside and pink and juicy on the inside. Fries rival McDonals, easily. Some ... read more

Slight attitude here – The burgers are good but not worth 6.50. The main guy who takes the orders has a slight attitude problem but the ladies are nice. Tag up on tha wall and act like youre one of tha many famous people who do. Johnny Rockets has way better burgers!!

Greatest Burger Experience Ever – If you can even find 'The Burger Joint', you should feel successful. Located behind a curtain in the lobby at the top-notch Le Parker Meridien hotel in midtown, this restaurant is as delicious as it is hard to find. If you eat there Monday through Friday from 12pm-2pm there will be a line and you'll have to wait, but it will be 100% worth it. Hamburgers are my favorite food and this place does them right. There's only one menu in the restaurant and it's written in marker on a ripped up piece... read more

OK Burger, Mostly Hype – I am a BURGER lover. I went here because everyone kept raving about their burgers. It was just a regular burger- nothing special. The size is pretty small, I could eat 1 1/2 and be good. The meat is nothing spectacular - just plain grilled. Buns are just normal too. The fries are decent but not the best. For $10 a burger it's okay for Midtown Manhattan prices but I'd prefer going to Burger Heaven if you're in the area. The place is also a hole in the wall so it's not the most comfortable place.

Great atmosphere but unimpressive burger – Was visiting NY and was very excited to sample various burgers. After recouping from my disappointment that the famed outdoor burger place was closed for the winter, I made my way to BJ and loved the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere in the middle of a fancy mid-town hotel. It was like they took the burger place in west village ambience and transplanted it in a corner of the lobby -- kind of like that closet in the film where that leads you to another magical world. The line was long, the... read more

not the best in town but i still would go back – I am a burger lover and the only reason I don't think this is the best burger in town is because of the size. The burgers don't really fill you up but the quality is good. But you can definitely get the same quality with a bigger patty elsewhere in the city. Nonetheless, I still recommend this place because the location is different and it's a fun place to take a tourist friend.

Great for a lunch date – Great burgers, great fries, great atmosphere. A little tough to locate within the luxe hotel that it inhabits, but good times inside. Worth the hype.
