About this business

Ever wonder why there's a cue snaking out of that red curtain in the lobby ofLe Parker Meridien? It's because in the middle of this swanky hotel, tucked away, is the most basic hole-in-the-wall Burger Joint. This casual no frills restaurant, with scribbles on the walls, pinned up art and it's iconic neon sign attracts an eclectic crowd. Serving only three kinds of burgers, fries and beer in a cup, this cash only joint is extremely popular. Drop by for a delicious burger, and enjoy the fact that you get to wait in an air-cond... read more

Best NYC burger – Don't understand the number of haters out there about this place. This is the best burger- and better than Shake Shack. Only adds to the allure that it is so well hidden, and a great place to feel like an NYC insider. But the burgers themselves are classic, no frills- and surprisingly the best tasting hamburger I have eaten in town. I keep going back. I've eaten all the "Top 10" burgers and plenty of others. Looking for a classic burger is a very specific thing, and has to be done right. Plenty of other pla... read more

You'll impress people you bring here – ...because of the hidden location, but that's the best thing it's got to offer. Good burgers, pretty standard, but it's easy to fall for unlikeliness of this place. I do think you're a bit crazy if you call this the best burger in NYC.

Decent burger.... but not nearly as good as SHAKE SHACK! – I read a bunch of reviews and decided to check out "The Burger Joint" and it was nothing special. The burgers tasted like the generic burgers you'd get at any back yard BBQ. I guess some people don't go to enough BBQ's or tailgate parties to realize these burgers are nothing special at all. (Unlike SHAKE SHACK! which actually has great burgers, that aren't just frozen patties, they're prepared by a chef, and made with 2 different kinds of meat and special seasoning..... read more

Cramped, touristy, good burger. – Each time I go I keep expecting the exprience to be had from another of NYC's cult institutions. And I get it. This "secret cafe" is hidden away in the Parker Meridian, so you are sure to impress those who you bring with your "insider knowledge". Except that insiders already know this place is done. The line is long, the seating is sparce, and the prices are inflated. The decor is meant to be hip, but the effect is just too reminiscent of any Applebees or TGIFs. The burger itself is greasy b... read more

terrible service, unreasonable – We have been to this place twice before, and really liked it. Liked it enough that we had a gift certificate given to us for our wedding. Turns out they wouldn't accept it. The woman behind the counter kept calling it a 'fake!' Quite embarrassing actually. She gave us such attitude saying it was a 'fake' and couldn't accept it. Even after we explained it was part of our wedding gift. It could have been handled so much better, the dismissal was the worst. Now we have to go back to the person t... read more

Rude service and crooks at the register including hotel managers too – I have to agree with the person mentioning the rude service. I was there a while back and got short changed from the cashier and instead of offering to be hospitable in a hotel such as the parker meridean, I was looked upon like I was the wrong one. Doesn't a hotel like this know the customer is especially always right? I would not tell my worst enemy to dine there your not missing anything. It's not worth the trip and especially the rudest most sarcastic... read more

worst burger and rude cashier – this is by far the worst place i've been for a burger not to mention how rude the cashier is and how expensive it is $7 for a burger that was horrible, I will never go there again!

In and Out is BETTER! – Coming from California I was expecting a lot from this burger place- being that it is #9 on the list of 20 HAMBURGERS one must eat before they die I thought the burger was good but defiantly not worth 6.99..WAY OVERPRICE if you ask me. I did like the special mustered they had and their decorations were quite quirky. Nevertheless, this burger joint does not live up to it's hype. It's got nothing on In and Out.

I do not understand... – There is absolutely nothing in this tiny, cramped place that makes it worth the 20+ minute wait. Nothing. I cannot understand why there are so many people going here that result in the wait and rave reviews when there are so many sub and pizza places nearby that serve food you can only get in NYC. These burgers are of the exact same quality of something I (and anyone) could make at home, they use normal ground beef, grocery store buns, and regular toppings and sauce. The fries are frozen and are prob... read more
