Charleton was our tour guide and was great! He took the time to ask where we were from. He was very funny and went along with our commentary. The tour had a lot of interesting information and charleton was able to answer all of our questions. Would be friends with charleton!
We took the Dark Side of Charleston tour to learn more about how the town became so illegally affluent. Charlton was our guide and we enjoyed the tour very much. A word of caution: it is described pretty well in the brochure. If you are not wanting this type of plain language tour then don't go. But we got what we paid for along with some very nice and funny young ladies and the evening was most enjoyable. It was unique to walk close to graveyards and alleys at night.
Really enjoyed the stories and the personality of our guide. I wish there was a little more walking and stops. A few of them got a little long at one place. Overall really great and would recommend to others. Really happy we did the dark side tour.
Made reservations last minute at visitor center. Lisa was very knowledgeable and made everything so interesting. Learned many things i could not have found out on my own. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys walking and learning. Worth every penny!

Absolutely amazing tour. Very very informative and creepy at the same time. Shawn was the tour guide of the jail. He was very knowledgeable and told the history in a great way!! If you live in Charleston or are just visiting you have to do this. I've done the dungeon tour with Karen. And the jail tour with Shawn. Both incredible!!!
