My name is Deborah Brown. I had broken my arm, fractured my elbow and wrist. My tendons were a mess. The other orthopedist didn't care. I was in my fifties. This was 2014 he did my surgery. Reconnecting my tendons and ligaments it hadn't had a decent blood flow for a year and a half. My hand was useless to me. I know he was skeptical but I told him I said I just wanted to be able to change my own tire. I'm not lazy and I'm not as slouch I can handle the physical therapy. He agreed to attempt to do the surgery. He did a pheno... read more
I suffered with a pain and knot in my finger, a ganglion cyst, and he pulled the sinovial fluid out the first time I came to see him in the office. After having this for two years this is such a relief and am so very thankful for him and his knowledge. VERY good doctor.
Dr Buehler did my hand surger on July 2017, he was very professional and it’s been over a year and feel great.
Though Dr. Buehler is experienced, he seems to not be open to any idea that isn't his own. I had complications from an outpatient wrist reduction resulting in a prolonged hospitalization where it took him one full week to check in on me. He didn't work with the other doctors trying to stabilize me. He was not open to taking any responsibility for his actions that lead to my predicament. He put all of the blame on me, when I had followed his instructions to the letter. Disappointing and painful.
One thing I've learned from the President is not to believe everything I read (especially from him). I found that the negative reviews about Dr Buehler were totally unjustified. What I wanted was a no-nonsense explanation of what was going on with my thumbs, and I got it. He was also very frank and helpful about treatments, not pushing surgery or injections at all. He has a good sense of humor and a business-like approach. I liked him.
The type of break in my arm didn't require a cast/splint, so Dr. Buehler threw the splint away I got in the emergency room. That was fine for the fracture, but he didn't re-splint my badly sprained wrist. His direction to treat the fracture was to "move it". No written exercises, specific do's and don'ts or offer of physical therapy. Despite significant pain and discomfort, he never inquired about my pain level or offered to help manage it. The whole appt. took less than 4 minutes.
He talked about other patients in front of me. He forgot a whole procedure in one surgery! He forgot to put pins in one surgery. He left the wrong pin in on another surgery. He didn't notice my thumbs hyperextend and should never have done my surgery at all! He got mad when I came back the day after surgery, so when he saw the infection, he rx'd an antibiotic but said in a chilling tone, "I do not want to see you back here before one month." Find ANYONE else to do your surgery! NOT BUEHLER!
I had an awful experience with this provider. I got a ganglion cyst and my PCP referred me to this doctor. I called and made an appointment, fully explaining the reasons for it. A few weeks later I showed up to my appointment. I waited 45 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time and then I was taken back to the exam room. Dr. Buehler comes in and without even so much as a greeting, he told me that he doesn't treat ganglion cysts. Okay fine, but it would have been nice if the receptionists or
Dr Buehler repaired my hand tendons 3 yrs ago most excellently. Last month I shattered my radius / wrist and Dr B and his team put me back together again no problemo. The team at East Portland Surgery Center is truly amazing and Dr B is the finest micro surgeon around. I heard he names his pet dogs "Ferris" and that's pretty funny : }. . .
