Update on my original one-star review (see below): when I completed Budget's follow-up survey, I wrote about the issue below and was contacted by Budget City Support Manager C Detmer, who had fixed the problem by removing the erroneous charge. This is by far the worst place to rent a car. Workers are unprofessional. And don't do their jobs. Reserved a suv for pickup at 6am, a month in advance. Get here to pick it up for our trip and they told us that they don't have one in the lot. Will never use budget ever again to rent a vehicle.

Unjust $450 Cleaning Fee! I recently rented a car from Budget, and I am utterly appalled by the experience. After returning the vehicle in what I believed to be a normal state, I was slapped with a ridiculous $450 cleaning fee! This charge is not only outrageous but completely unjustified. I’m usually one to read reviews before I do anything. Big mistake renting with budget for my trip. There’s a lack of integrity going on at this business. When I arrived the vehicle I reserved or any other in its class was unavailable; typical, expected, not upset. Mr. Abdirahman gladly upgraded me at no other cost. I rented a car from Albany and returned it the same day to CVG airport. This in late Oct. First I got a 400 dollar cleaning fee. I called in to get pictures and the customer service agent even laughed when he saw the pictures and said something wasn’t right. There was zero dirt. So that’s the first time they tried to scam me. Second is they told me I returned the car 2 days later…. I asked them to check the car GPS and supplied a few different prices of info to prove the car was returned the same day.
