About this business

This establishment holds the oldest liquor license in the state, and it has been in operation for more than a century. If you love history, game hunting, and awesome food, than this is the place for you! Everything about this restaurant is amazing. It would literally take hours for you to see everything this place has on display from over the years. I think Chris, the upstairs bartender, makes this place cooler than it already is too. He's friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the place. I'm pretty sure that guy needs a raise

It was okay at best. I've dined all over the world -- this was underperformed badly for the money. My elk steak was undercooked, my buffaloes steak was rare. That were both not right for what I paid. Not even close. Not happy.

Business response:

Ken, we are very sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience. It is always our hope that if our guests are unsatisfied it is brought to our attention before they leave us as we love to correct it during the dining process to ensure you leave pleased. If you could please reach out to Bill Dutton, the general manager at either info@buckhorn.com or 303-534-9505 we would like to hear more.

My wife and I came to Denver with two other couples for a convention and were in town for five days. We visited some of the trendy downtown bars and eateries, and took three road trips through the Rockies which which we had never seen before. We found out about this place via the internet and it was also recommended by the bartender at our hotel. Being a history buff, and an outdoorsman as well as a fan of exotic cuisine, I can honestly say that if I ever return to Denver again, this is the one thing I would cerainly repeat.... read more
