New Yorkers know to avoid this place – Happy farmhouse decor, complete with groups of out-of-towner girls who think everything is one big S&theCity episode. Overpriced, food comparable to your local corner diner, and the guaranteed long wait at the door adds insult to injury. Thought I would come back after a few months to give it another try, but nothing's changed and this is the last time I'll eat here. ps: the pie is still good though
Great for Kids...Not adults! – This is a great place...if you're a kid. You can run around in this large space, yell to your hearts content and they even have a play corner with toys. Horrible Service, Overpriced and Over-rated – I came here because of a friend's recommendation. My wife and I were sooo disappointed with the brunch. Let's start with the long wait - half an hour. The table service was horrible. Our orders kept getting mixed up with the next table and our waiter barely came around to check up on us. The food was mediocre. What a horrible experience! – So I heard Bubby's was THE place to have brunch in the Big Apple. So I took the subway from the Upper West Side all the way down to Hudson Street in hopes of a great experience. I was told there was a 15-minute wait, so I went outside as their sign instructs and waited ... FOR AN HOUR!!! They kept calling other people's names who had come in after me. No, no, no! – I went here for brunch with a friend. I was really excited because, I'm from the South, and I love grits, so I was definitely looking forward to one of the few opportunities New York provides to get grits. What a let-down! We had to wait forever to get in, the place was way too loud and crowded, the grits were nasty, the rest of the food was horrible, the water had stuff floating in it, and it was WAY overpriced! Don't waste your time here. Blech!!
Great Brunch! – Came here on a Sunday afternoon to have brunch and the meal was definitely worth the wait! Their breakfast special was delicious and the service was great! You must try their sour cream pancakes and homefries! Eggs were perfectly cooked and everything was fresh and tasty! The atmosphere is very upbeat and friendly. Great Brunch – Go for brunch, the pancakes were great, but my favorite is the huevos rancheros. Try the huevos rancheros, they rock!
Shamelessly overpriced, serving tasteless food – We headed over to Bubby's on Mother's Day for a very late breakfast. My husband ordered the original pancakes. He got mildly burned, heavy pancakes, which were mediocre at best. My son, who was in a lunch mood, ordered the garlic burger. It was ok, but nothing more.
