However, on weekends it really heats up for brunch, with lines sometimes snaking around the corner. Changed for the worst. – The menu has changed - it's now smaller (what happened to the chicken fried chicken!?) - but one thing hasn't changed: POOR SERVICE. Waitresses are clueless, the food takes forever to come out and the sides are always wrong. In addition, they are almost always out of atleast a couple dishes - i'm not sure who is in charge of inventory but I have never been to a restaurant that is out of food on a saturday night at 7:30.
Bad Service – I ordered a cake for birthday party across the street at Mr Chow's. they promised to delivery to me but they forgot and I almost didn't have a cake for my husbands birthday. I didn't any apologies from them.
Great brunch spot...... – Great casual brunch spot..... especially on a nice day when you can sit outside. The menu is full of yummy comfort food and the bloody mary's are GREAT. Can be a bit crowded on the weekends......
Great Matzah ball soup & Mac N Cheese, Very Crowded though. – Had a work lunch here on Thursday. Very cramped and close quarters, quite loud, and rushed service. Brought clients because of the food. Matzah ball soup was light and fluffy, as it should be. However, all of the sandwiches were served on toasted thick sourdough. The bread not only overwhelmed the sandwich, but it was very difficult to eat, and get your mouth around. Would go for brunch, but not for lunch or dinner.
Decent place, subpar service and overpriced. – We were sat promptly for Sunday's brunch, but the problems began where most of the brunch specials were out when we got there. I ordered the special omelette but the waiter came back moments later and told me that they ran out of that as well. I had no choice but to change it to "Bubby's Breakfast". But guess what? Great meals for weekend brunch or weekday lunch – Cheese Grits every day is heaven. It's the best comfort food in the world and Bubby's makes a good one. For lunch, the Garlic burger with brie cheese is a good bet. Just don't talk to anyone for a few hours because your breath will reek. The wait staff are very nice and the dining area is airy. Horrible Service, Average Food, Good Prices if you are willing to wait – We had horrible service and had to prompt the waitress for everything from drinks, to bread to our check. The tables around us were complaining about the same thing. The food was good, but nothing to write home about.
Overall Good meal – We are in New York for a holiday and decided to try buby's as it was just roound the corner. We had brunch, I ordered a bubby's breakfast meal. The food arived within 15 minutes. The bacon was nice but a bit too fatty. The eggs and homefries were amazing! We also tried the pancakes, they were delicious at hot. The actual place was friendly but a little cramped. Cheese grits to die for... – I love the brunch here - especially the biscuits and cheese grits - but you have to get there before 11am, or the wait is heinously long. Although I'm a devotee of the food, I have to agree with those who complain about the service, both in-restaurant and delivery. It's pretty shabby, with a few exceptions for some great servers that shine among those that are really sub-par.
