Amazing nurses, great food, can watch Netflix and other streaming platforms on the main tv and side lounge. Lance was my social worker and he was so supportive and helpful.

I was dealing with some pretty intense depression for quite some time and not getting much help and after a night of alcohol consumption it hit me like a ton of bricks and I went to my local hospital and explain what brought me in. After a discussion they said I was going to be taken up to Buffalo to a place called Brylin! Literally the worst place I’ve ever been to the staff was so rude. They did not care if I was starving myself they would let people talk about killing themselves and wouldn’t say anything. Literally they gave me more trauma that I came in that place with.

I went to Brylin voluntarily to het help treating my panic disorder. My first 3 hours weren’t easy as the building is old and does not have a comforting look to it. However after I was admitted and placed into care on the adult floor I had nothing but good experiences. The nurses were very sweet and welcoming. Yes some of them had moods at times but given their profession and the stress they’re constantly under, it is 100% understandable and justified. I understand that many of you may have hesitation when it comes to entering an inpatient environment... But take my word for it-- Brylin is an incredible place to be. The staff is helpful, the accommodations are first rate, the activities are useful, and the food is incredible. Don't be disillusioned by places like ECMC or Niagara County. Brylin is nothing like how you're treated at places like that! I know that having mental problems and/or substance abuse issues can make you feel very awful. But give Brylin a chance!
