This was the first time I saw Dr. Hartog, and I was very pleased. He had me get x-rays and he reviewed them and told me I needed knee replacement. I have been suffering for about 10 years and other doctors told me all they could do is cortisone shots or something called slymvistick? Also that I was too young to have replacement surgery. I am so happy to finally get some relief from the pain.

I had a total ankle replacement in 2016 to correct a previous surgeons mistake. Dr. Den Hartog was very thorough and forthright his the surgery and what could happen in the future due to my young age. Follow up care has been excellent.

My experience with Dr. Den Hartog was awesome. He was able to diagnose and fix my Morton’s Neuroma after two years of no answers from the other doctors I went to. He answered all my questions and treated me with respect and care. Also the staff at Crosstown surgery are amazing, very professional and very caring.
AMAZING!!!!! After almost two years of non-answers from other providers, Dr. Den Hartog LISTENED, examined, looked at the various x-rays, MRIs and bone scans, then examined again and showed us what the problem was. He made solid recommendations for treatment and we are on our way to being pain free!!!! We are so grateful for his expertise.
The first time I saw Dr. Hartog he did and does his exams from the doorway, He didn't do anything but a limited record review while I was there. Needless to say, the result was a waste of time. On the second visit, about a year later, he stated there was nothing he could do but give a cortisone shot. He missed the fact that I had a split tear tendon and strained and disconnected ligaments in my ankle.

Dr. Den Hartog was very professional, honest....didn't push me into foot surgery until I was ready. AT this point I am very pleased with my surgery, no infection concerns, healing well, he explained things so I would understand....not always telling me what I wanted to hear, (but what I needed to hear) He is moving on to new opportunities, but I certainly would have recommended him to others. Thank Dr. Den Hartog for my healing foot!
Would not consider. Something has happened with this physician. I know he used to be well respected but my experience was very negative. I had bad results and he did not explain anything. Not acceptable.
Was a good experience around 2007. I had both ankles fused due to a metarasal coaltion. Subsequent xrays by other doctors to check it's status have all been fine. Two of the doctors who looked at my xrays were impressed with the relative 'straightness' of the fusion. So, while this condition is anything but fun, I appreciate Dr Den Hartog's surgical abilities.
