BEWARE!!!! – Yes, some the apartments are great, but the guy who owns and the people who run them are a NIGHTMARE. Ive only been able to get one major thing fixed ask that that was after reporting Brusco to the state. It was only after they were fined, they fixed it and boy, was he pissed. Do you self a favor and go the NYC Dept. of Finance web site and look up their properties. You can see the liens and discover the various and abundant law suits. Why is this still a NYC business? These people are criminals – I will be objective and just give you a list of facts, but it is hard because I hate this company so much. I live on one of their buildings since 8 months, and I CANNOT wait till our lease is up. (This is for their office on 74th street but it is the same anyway) - You pay a lot of rent but they do NOT give you enough heat. They let you freeze when temperatures are in the 40s outside. Watch out for false late fee - SCAM! – In addition to being a typical non-responsive landlord - this place charges you for late fees on rent even if the rent was not late. This is how they supplement their already high rent. I always pay early - and my rent checks were all cashed BEFORE the rent was even due. Yet this place makes up the fake date that I was late in payment. Seriously - this place is a scam. Here's why I hate Brusco – Here is a list of the issues/problems with my apartment. I moved into my apartment and all of the below needed repair - appalling Two kitchen cabinet doors broken and one of the hinge Bathroom cabinet (the only one in there) off the hinge Shower rod completely rusted Broken dishwasher -first time I turned the knob, it fell off and had been taped on The blinds were black because they had not been cleaned. Worst management company in New York – Countless problems dealing with this company in the past 2 years. I understand that most buildings in NY are old and things can go wrong but it is attempting to get these people to do ANYTHING is the challenge. There is no-one to call in an emergency even when your ceiling is flooding. They give you an emergency phone number for a super that is never answered. Unresponsive at best – This company is rotten from the core. From Brusco to his food soldier Orchid these are some of the most dis-likable people we have ever dealt with. "Slum lord" would be an unfair title on these wanna-be Sopranos as they couldn't be considered Lords! They are only responsive if you withhold rent - they also don't even pay their sub-contractors on time! The positive comments on this site are so obviously written by the company itself they are laughable!!

Worst experience in my LIFE – Absolutely terrible management company who once they get you in their apartment they won't give a sh** about you, i hate, absolutely HATE ORCHID at Brusco, I told her about having rats in my apartment more than one and she just doesn't care. Don't rent from these people!!

I will never rent in another BRUSCO building – I would also give this management co. "0" stars if I could. I am not someone who writes reviews, EVER, but I want to warn unsuspecting renters. Brusco DOES NOT TURN ON THE HEAT. It is often as cold inside the apartment as it is outside. What a poorly run management company. I have lived in other NYC apartment buildings and never have they been so poorly run and the management so downright obnoxious. STAY AWAY. I will never consider living in a Brusco apartment again.

Man Up. Brusco is fine. You just don't like living in NYC. – The comments on this page are ludicrous. Brusco is not a terrible company (nor is it beyond reproach.) It's a typical mid-rent management company in Manhattan. My theory is that the whiners who have commented prior to me feel entitled to have their hand held by their landlord, even though they don't have the bankroll to justify it in New York City.
