I began to see Dr Lewin on 2/22/2011. I had blood tests done before the visit and we were to have our first meeting for the yearly Medicare Physical. My prostate Specific Antigen level was 2.38 ng/ml. I had informed Dr Lewin that I was taking Finasteride and had been for 20 years. Dr Lewin did not inform me that we must multiply the PSA reading by 2.5 in order to find the accurate current PSA level, as Finasteride artificially reduces this reading.
