ER waits are longer than I have ever seen in my life and I lived overseas. We have been here for 4.5 hours for a dislocated hip and still have not been seen.
This has to be the worst hospital we have ever been in. The staff on the floor were doing the best they could, but none of the nurses we had were working in their area or even on their regular floor. Everyone else here seems so miserable. The people in the cafeteria seems so depressed, you couldn't drag a smile out of them. The doctors forget to chart things, which cause the nurses to seem incompetent. My wife had two dinner trays in 4 days because their charting errors. I fed her from the Bistro downstairs. I’m not sure if they will ever see this but please try to make sure they do - Lauren and Luke in the SVI -1 unit were by far the kindest, caring nurses I have ever experienced. I can’t imagine going through our time there without them and what they did for us. Thank you. So very much, for everything. You are so appreciated. DO NOT COME HERE. These people could have killed my mom due to incompetence. She had a hysterectomy and the surgery went lovely. But the aftercare was God awful. The nurses are poorly trained and it shows. UAB buying them was the worst thing to happen to ST Vincents. We were on the fourth floor and stayed in room 459 on the WEST side. Erin and Sabrina and maybe two others are the only nurses with any business working there. Erin deserves a RAISE. The other nurses probably used Chat GPT in school and lack common sense.
