I love this beautiful park. The trails are wonderful and offer rugged to easy hiking, trail running, and biking. It's a great motorcycle riding location. Picnics on scenic overlooks can't be topped. Abe Martin Lodge restaurant has fantastic food. Camping area is clean and peaceful. Old growth forest section is very special and rare in the Midwest. It's a treasure.
This is the best state park in the country! I'm needing to visit soon.
Park and PAID staff are absolutely great BUT as for the EXTREMELY rude campground host Don, I will never camp at this park again.... Yelled at my wife and I in middle of campground road in front of other campers as well as my children for pulling through a patch of grass.... This man should be banned from campground for the way he spoke to us.... We ended up leaving the park same day.... But as far as the staff and property manager Doug. They are absolutely great.
