Nicknamed the "Little Smokies" because of the area's resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines. Glaciers from the most recent ice ages stopped short of the "hills o' Brown," but their meltwaters helped create the narrow ridges, steep slopes and deep gullies of Brown County State Park. With the addition of the Bobcat Trail, Aynes connector, and Yellowwood State Forest! Brown County is is stepping up the Mountain Biking Game.
We live about 15 minutes away so get a pass to enjoy the park year around. Sometimes we just go there for lunch or dinner. We love our park and are blessed to be so close to enjoy the changes and love bringing visitors there to hike or picnic and visit the nature center.
Beautiful park. Nice nature trails. The foliage in fall is simply breathtaking.
Beautiful location, the views are incredible. We spent the afternoon on Ogle Lake and I took some incredible pictures and made memories with my husband that will last a lifetime.
