Decent golf course for being public – Overall, this is a great course! Its well maintained,if you are a resident its reasonable and the greens are in ok shape. On weekends it can be a long day, so be prepaired for 5+ hours.

Worst golf experience ever. – We were paired with two women WAY better then us. I?m intermediate my GF is a beginner. So we are on whole number on our second stoke playing time less then 2 minutes. When the team behind us just up and passes us, which is FINE with me. However then 2 minutes later we are finishing up the first hole on the green and this guy comes by and says you were already passed by 4 peoples ?1 group? if you can?t keep up pick up your golfballs and move on. So I?m annoyed at this point but manage to keep my... read more

Duffers flock to these two deceptively challenging courses that lie in the shadow of Pasadena's Rose Bowl. – In Short Tucked away in Pasadena's verdant Arroyo Seco, Brookside is home to two Bobby Bell-designed, 18-hole public courses--the popular Koiner course and the shorter Nay course. The courses are popular with well-heeled locals, but welcome all players. The site of the 1969 Los Angeles Open, it's still a favorite among pros as well as serious amateurs who gather here for the annual Pasadena Amateur Championship. Vital... read more

Just turn it to a parking lot already! – Ahh, the smell of the moist AM air, the breeze to your back and the site of trash and tire marks mad me pissed. To top it off, the staff proudly made it aware that a change or refund could not be given .This place has one of the worst staffs I have ever experienced and they have the belief it seems to me that " people will keep coming no matter what". I felt my money to them was going towards payroll and not the quality of the course. The sad part for them is the fact that someone rec... read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE – I will never play here again - only course that I have ever said that about. Sending out fivesomes seven minutes apart - made afternoon round more than 6 hours long (actually after 6 hours it was dark and we couldn't finish!). Most holes had anywhere from 3 - 5 groups waiting to tee off - and compounding the problem, the course was poorly maintained. Bad fairways and even worse greens! Skip this place and go somewhere else - too many good golf courses available to waste your time here. Only visit when y... read more

Not worth the money – This course is only in good shape during the city championship, but other times it is crappy. Less than half the tee boxes are flat and level, the fairways are in horrible condition, all the starters don't know what they are doing and when you try to tell them something they immediately pop attitude. The only thing good about this course are the greens.

Great Courses – Formerly site for Los Anglese Open, USGA Public Links Championship, and annual venue for the Pasadena City Amateur Tournament (one of the largest amateur tournaments in the country) The number one course is a great test of golf, and much more difficult than first appearance. The number two course at approximately 6000 yards is also a fun couse and difficult because of small and tricky greens. One of the best "city" courses in the area.

rip off – Did I really just spend $60 dollars golfing today? Not only is it expensive, but it has some of the most poorly maintained fairways and greens I have ever seen. If I'm going to spend that much on golf (ok, I'm not from LA, so I'm used to spending $20 for 18 holes), they could at least take better care of the place. Maybe they shouldn't let cars park on the fairways for games at the rose bowl.
