Brookdale in Lake Charles is a disgrace. They did not give my mother her medicine for 2 days and she's a diabetic. They haven't had a director for 7 months. The one that handles the billing is rude and can't do her job. I had to call or email to remind to send the bill to insurance. She has spoken to me rudely more than once. Department of Health and Hospitals investigated and found them in violation.

I am writing about Brookdale in Coeur d' Alene Id. They should be investigated . They promised housekeeping, three meals ,activities,Wi fi, maintenance ,repairs and have not met any. I have been paying for all the above to be included in my rent Food at times is unfit to eat Corporation does nothing to resolve these issues, Short on staff and staff leaving . Place is run like a concentration camp. Please don't put anyone you love in this place. .

I am the friend, and since her horrible experience at La Rosa, now the POA for someone who was admitted to Brookdale Santa Catalina La Rosa Nursing Facility in Tucson, Arizona, in February 2022. What started as the need for rehab after a fall followed by surgery turned in to a progressing and untreated medical condition while my friend was at La Rosa. (Brookdale S.Tyler, TX) They do not keep loved ones informed about medical decisions or changes. Numerous times my loved one was in double layered depends and both were saturated to the point of leaking through! Also, if your LO needs assistance eating they are NOT very helpful towards them at meal time. We always brought our LO snacks and protein drinks. He lost almost 20lbs in 3 months!

My father has been in Brookdale, Lake Ridge (Virginia) since Jan. of 2022, and he has done quite well. That might be the problem. He is recovering from Covid losses and has a will to get better, but his initial assessment quickly proved wrong. We are aware they have explained the care charges decreased after invoices were run, and they have also provided an explanation of each charge and credit that was on the invoice. The most recent assessment and changes in care will be reflected as credits on the May invoice.
If you hate your parent(s) and have a lot of money, take them to Brookdale Park Place in Spokane Valley Washington. they had a "director" named Pat - one of many - who lied through her teeth about prices and care. They don't have the proper number of staff - assuming they even had staff - leaving guests abused, neglected. The place smells like urine. Dad returned from oral surgery with bloody gauze pads in his mouth and the executive director said that they don't change soaked gauze pads out. They wanted dad to do it. I asked them if they were refusing service to a bleeding resident and they just walked away. Do not take your lived one's to brookdale vista grande in Colorado Springs. Took my mom to one of Brookdale senior living facilities in glendale AZ. At first it was a good placement for her. Most of the staff and care givers were kind and did their jobs well. But as time went by things began to shift. I had to constantly address issues. Then covid hit. As I was not able to be there in person on a daily basis my mom was not being cared for at all.
