Dr. Torpey did a great job fixing my ACL when I was in high school. Now I’m playing football in college. I just him recently for a new injury. He is always concerned and caring.

I have known Dr. Torpey since 1995 w/my Mom's hip replacement & then my shoulder & elbow surgery in '98 & '99. He takes a lot of time w/you, is patient, kind, expert in best practice, the best Orthopedic MD I know. He reassured me many times after injuries/pains and is trustworthy in helping you make decisions best for you. I sent a friend to Dr. Torpey who couldn't move her arms and he got her better after many docs had given up. A constellation of excellence!

It has become clear to me Brian Torpey should be known as Surgeon Torpey not Dr Torpey. My hip is worse now then before meeting Torpey and having his two surgeries, he is now telling me I should have a third which two second opinions clearly disagree with. There is no concern for figuring out what is causing the pain just throw me under the knife until something works.

Dr. Torpey tried to replace my ACL and fix my Meniscus but it was worse after surgery and had to get the whole thing done over so I cannot reccomend him for Knee issues such as I had. He didn't even come into the hospital room either after the surgery to see how I was doing eventhough I asked.

I have been using Dr. Torpey since he was our physician at Monmouth University over 10 years ago. Dr. Torpey has performed 2 meniscus surgeries and is going to be performing another one in a week from today actually on my achilles. Through the ten years he is the only ortho I will go see. He has great staff that go above and beyond their job. I have never waited more than ten minutes to see Dr. Torpey. Excellent doctor but prepared to wait in the office for your appointment. Only real complaint- Dr. does not return calls. He has his secretary call. My father had a problem after surgery and the secretary gave us her advice.. did not appreciate her input... wanted to speak to someone who went to medical school. Otherwise, excellent doctor.

Great bedside manner , explained condition, and surgical procedure with me , spent long time with me not rushed, office very nice .staff very accomidating, work strongly refer him to anyone

Nice Office but couldn't help much. Knowledge on certain knee issues seems limited.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Torpey and his support staff. Dr. Torpey is compassionate and professional. He really listens and patiently answers any questions you have. His secretary is wonderful, sympathetic and efficient. They have taken terrific care of me throughout the ordeal of my injury. All the ancillary staff, from the techs to the billing department are friendly and considerate. One minor thing is the front desk staff can be abrupt and unhelpful, but it is mostly noticeable because of the stark contras... read more
