The owner of this apartment will try to make a big deal out of your small mistake and withhold your deposit. I also had trouble with the deposit when I moved out of this apartment. I consulted with UCLA Legal Services about this, and was surprised to find that about 10 cases had been brought to the legal services before me. Years later, I searched the state court records and found that there had been quite a few lawsuits against the owner. I'm just saying that you should not move into this apartment.
