I was fortunate to have been among one of Dr. Prendergast first patients in 2013. I will never forget the honesty of Dr. Prendergast about my condition and plans for my radiation treatment. When Dr. Prendergast told me he would have to cook me to cure me from cancer , he was exactly right and he did just that. It wasn't easy to do 35 radiation treatments but it was necessary to rid me of cancer. If I was able to give negative stars, I would. For starters, be ready to never be able to get a hold of someone regarding a patient. I was always told to leave a message or call back. No one ever calls back. The doctor dismissed my brother in law with a severe brain tumor hours before he was to go into radiation due to the patient being aggressive. A lie. I have experienced this doctors manner in which he deals with patients and he is rude, to say the least, inconsiderate, didn't have any patience and left us out in the cold... read more
He outlined and directed my radiation treatments for Cancerous Sarcoma in my extremity. His expertise and calming demeanor were much appreciated during this stressful time. He was focused on informing my wife and I of the progress and outcome. I felt that he and his staff were capable and competent in eradicating any residual cancer. They made the whole process not so awful! I would recommend Dr. Prendergast to anyone needing the services of a Radiation Oncologist.
Dealing with Skin Cancer is a very nerve wracking and scary situation, (as any type of Cancer is). Dr. P helps so much in explaining the procedures he recommends, and in treatment. While my skin cancer situation is not as critical as others, it still has an effect on mental status, which he tries to (and is quite successful), ease uncertainty with reassurance. This is so important to help any patient through uncertainty and fear. How fortunate I am!!!! Highly recommended!
