My mother passed away on May 9th at Brandon Regional Hospital. Never in my life have I ever experienced such a lack of urgency and empathy. My mom was admitted 7 days prior to her passing with symptoms of endocarditis. An Echocardiogram wasn’t performed to detect this until the day prior of her passing, to which she suffered multiple strokes rendering her brain dead. During her care, I received several calls from the nursing staff with information of the procedures that they ...Continue Reading

On the evening of June 15, I brought my daughter to Brandon Regional Hospital ER due to a severe allergic reaction. After calling her pediatricians office and speaking to the Dr on call, he advised she be taken immediately to the ER because she was covered head to toe in hives and he was concerned the reaction would affect her breathing. We had already given her Benadryl with little relief so her pedi told me she likely needed a steroid as well as needed to be checked that he...Continue Reading

On February 1st I went to Brandon Regional because I was in labor. I went in around 7am and wasn't dialited enough so they sent me home until contractions were closer together. I returned at about 7 pm and was admitted to l&d. I had a night nurse named Myrabel. I made it very clear that I wanted my epidural before the doctor came to break my water and before they started the pitocin. Clearly that went to deaf ears. Shortly after I stated that the doctor came in to brake my wa...Continue Reading

The first picture is little man the first day he was diagnosed with "viral infection"(common cold), they said suction his nose and tylenol for fever. That was easy enough he will be better in no time! Content with the answers, we headed home. The second one is when it started getting bad and we took him back to brandon hospital for choking when when he coughed, he was then diagnosed with RSV, exactly a week apart! They said there isnt much you can do just suction his nose, us...Continue Reading

While I want to start off letting you all know I had taken my son to Brandon Regional - Plant City for a broken bone and the doctors he saw were amazing with him and cared about him genuinely. So when I found myself working from home (alone) and unable to move my arm with swelling, I thought about driving myself to Tampa to a hospital, but by the time I had gotten in the car my pain level was way too high, I drove myself to the Plant City location assuming I would get the sam...Continue Reading

I visited BRH last night. I had a kidney stone hurting me so bad I was crying in the bathtub for two hours before I had my roommate take me to the ER. I waited fifteen minutes grieving in pain before they could take my vitals. After that, one of the guys hands me a cup and tells me if I happen to feel an urge, to get a sample. I managed to get a small sample before they took me to do a catscan, waiting another ten minutes in agonizing pain while they tracked down my paper wor...Continue Reading

I brought my daughter at least three different occasions and each time we used the valet parking; AWESOME PPL. Short wait and I cannot say enough about care from Dr. Vega in the ER and the nurse that worked with her. I have lived here for 28 years and have ALWAYS skipped over Brandon Hosptial because of the lack of quality of care. It's so much different. I truly appreciate the facelift to the hospital. Again, THANK YOU to Dr. Vega for being so good to my daughter.
