We live local and we were not happy with Boxcar the last time we went there, but thought we would try it again.After all everyone deserves second chance. Came away again very disappointed..1) our waitress was not told we were seated and we sat for 5 minutes before any service..2) ordered prime rib medium rare with small whole potatoes...prime rib came medium well with potatoes cut up in quarters.The salad bar use to be wonderful and that's even getting lousy. Had good service. Food was good possibly not great. Okay.
My wife and I waited for almost 30 minutes for our food, when we decided to leave. Then, the manager wanted to argue with me about how long we waited, pretty much calling me a liar, and being condescending the whole time. We will not be back.
While waiting on the food to arrive I got a shower from one of the waitress when for some reason she dropped the tray and the drinks poured down my back and jacket, bacl pocket, and no sorry response from the waitress. Had to ask for towels to try to dry with. If you were a saltaholic this is the place to go. The steamed veggies were tough and not eatable. I was craving Boxcar Salad Bar. Did I get it? No...tried the pot roast with brown gravy. Oh. My. Goodness, YUM! My son and I got the two entrees, each with a side and free appietizer for $20. Can't beat that � And the server? Pleasant, friendly and took time to speak with not only me, but my son and his girlfriend, who both are twelve. Love Boxcar Grille. Not to mention, it is close to home �
Loved it but “Unlimited” salad bar doesn’t mean “unlimited”. One get one large plate and one small plate and that’s it. I don’t like to overload my plates in order to get my unlimited amount. I usually use 3 plates because I put salad on one, fruit on one, and other items on the last plate if still hungry. So you need to call it “Limited” salad bar. This is my only complaint. Service is great.
I ordered the sirloin tips and forgot to say the large order so when they brought it I said something to the waitress and she said she would see what she could do so they made it right and gave me more and it was delicious they were seasond wonderfully and they were better than any steak house I have eaten at I was very pleased it was my birthday dinner and I give them 10 stars
