The place was completely gutted in 2006 and was rebuilt again. The restaurant is famous for its wonderful oysters, seafood platter and shrimps. It takes pride in using the freshest ingredients and the catch of the day is always worth trying out. You can also book private parties at this venue.

RecommendedExcellent beer selection. Food is always great. Shrimp Platter 1/2 & 1/2, so good. The sunset view is a must. An amazing place to unwind.
Every vacation to the Charleston SC area we make sure Bowen’s Island Restaurant is out number one stop for seafood. We don’t mind the long lines, the wait or the atmosphere because it is amazing! The delicious food, great service, and beautiful views are really what makes this place my favorite.
Delicious!!!!! The view was awesome and we got some great pictures of the sunset! We will definitely be back!!!!!

A true low country seafood experience. Okay, do not drive your low sitting car such as my Fiat Spider in to the place, but the food was great and the prices were very reasonable. A "must do" if you are in the Charleston or Folly Beach area.
I got the seafood platter. Best food I’ve had there. Whoever did the fryer did a great job. I would give my experience 5 stars, but I have never liked the cole slaw.

Horrible place with mediocre food. Waited 2 hours for our food with no wait staff to question about what was going on. They got our order wrong and the food was average. Nothing special about this place but the view. Buy a postcard and never visit. Not worth ever going here, ever.
The crab cakes are excellent and the hush puppies are so good. We will definitely be back.

The line and wait was fairly long for summer, however it was well worth it. Beautiful sunset and incredible food, especially the shrimp. The staff were very friendly and on point. No complaints here. Will go back next trip to Folly.
