The Bonaventure Brewing Co. is the only true brewery in downtown Los Angeles. Come by for a taster set of award-winning ales crafted by Head Brewer David Blackwell. Slow Service, So-So Food – We waited at the entrance for 10 minutes without being greeted, so we ended up seating ourselves. Maybe they were short-staffed, but service was really slow when I went (which was a Saturday night--and mind you, the restaurant was pretty empty). Also, the food is not worth what you pay. I could get the same kind of food but with bigger portions at TGI Friday's for much less. This was my second time here, and I don't know if I'll go back after this. I'd rather go to Bona Vista.
Downtown BBC, the place to be! – The signature brews are great, for your first trip I reccommend the sampler. The happy hour menu is pretty good, great spot for an after work burger & beer. The patio can't be beat when it's nice outside. The only bummer is the parking, but that's remedies by parking in the Bonaventure and having the BBC validate so that you only pay $5.
Decent downtown spot – The food isn't incredible, but it's a step above typical pub fare. The prices are a bit steep, but reasonable when compared to all of the expense account restaurants crowding the downtown landscape. On pleasant days the outdoor dining here can't be beat.
Wrong Restaurant – The review before this one is referring to the Bona Vista Lounge on the top floor. The Bonaventure Brewing Company is on the fourth floor. Their beer is very good, and though I haven't been to their happy hour it seems like a really nice place for an after-work drink. I recommend it.
This place is the BOMB ! – The 1st time I came here, I did not realise that the bar was at the top of the building in the 42nd floor. The bar moves around the building at 1 MPH. You get to see down town LA and the drinks are really good. Dinner is great too. I have been here many times and everytime I go, i have a good time. You have to see it and be there to believe it. Its beautiful up there.
