About this business

Founded by Dirk and Harriet Boersma as a small vacuum shop in Chicago in 1935, our business later moved to Wisconsin. When a customer walked in searching for a sewing machine, the Boersmas added a line of Pfaff sewing machines to their inventory the very next day. And so Boersma's Sewing Center Inc was born, and it continues to grow today. Great specialty sewing center Locally/family owned and operated since 1960's. Sits right on the main street in McMinnville, and also has ample parking in the rear. Beautiful window displays of local handmade quilts. Inside the store are more exquisite quilts and beautiful antique sewing machine displays. Boersmas Sewing Center Incorporated This is a quality business owned and managed by honest, hard working people who really care about their customers. One can purchase sewing machines, as well as vacuums. Classes are offered seasonally in a chatty newsletter. Many quilters find the perfect cotton or pattern here, as well. I look here first for most of my sewing needs.

Sewing machinews and vacuums Wonderful store. They have been in the same location for at least 30 years. During that time they have changed from dress fabrics to quilting fabrics. If you can't find it there, you don't need it! There are always lots of very different full sized quilts on display. Really makes you want to run home and start in on one. great They have a huge selection of fabric. Though some seems overpriced. Lots of patterns, thread, and needles to choose from. The staff is very knowledgeable.

I have yet to have a good experience at Boersma’s. The few times I went in the staff (one gal in particular) was very curt and seemed put off by a simple question. I was hoping they’d be able to help with a question about my sewing machine since they’re the ones who recommended it. I was met with a very flat ‘look in your manual’. I decided to give them one last try and bring my vintage Bernina in to be serviced and to see if they could either fix the foot pedal or source a new one for me. Best fabric in the valley! I love Boersmas! The ladies are very knowledgeable and helpful. The fabric quality has yet to be beat in my book! Also you could really spend hours looking at all the designs! So much to choose from!

This fabric store is an absolute gem! A fantastic variety of fabrics and wonderful staff. By far the best fabric store I’ve been to. I’m sad it took so long to discover!
