When you dine at the Boathouse, you get the best of both worlds, culinarily speaking. We are locavores to be sure, but also connoisseurs of what the rest of the world has to offer, which means that our menus feature the freshest, finest ingredients from near and far. We procure as many local, seasonal products from the Grand Traverse Region as possible, and when we must go further afield (for our amazing Kobe beef or seafood, for example), we look for sources that practice sustainable agriculture and fishing. Wonderful experience with excellent food and service
The ambiance was beautiful. I highly suggest sitting on the outdoor patio. The lobster and shrimp bisque was probably the best I have ever had. The filet was amazing. Prices are high but well wirth it for the quality food and view.
As my husband and I went down Memory Lane this past weekend on the peninsula, where as a child he spent summers with his family, I looked up restaurants. I read the Reese box from others and even though this was a priced more than we wanted to spend, we did it anyway! And we did not regret it! On a scale of 10 it was a 20! Every dish that we had from appetizers, salads, soups and main courses everything was over the top. Service, also hit the top of the scale!
Beautiful view, excellent staff (Will was perfect), staff well educated on offerings, creative and flavorful food, nice beverage selection... one of the best restaurants in the state.
We went to the restaurant on a recommendation from strangers. We were not disappointed. My husband had oysters on the half shell & the whitefish. I had sweet corn purée and the salmon. Everything was delicious. We sat at the bar and our service was excellent. Both gentlemen were attentive and very friendly.
Way overpriced. They added an upcharge to a $9.00 shot of Bourbon, and an upcharge on an $8.00 martini of 3.50, causing each drink to cost 11.50. Called it a "neat " charge because they "do a larger pour. And each drink was a double. $23 is almost enough to buy a full bottle.
The food and service were both excellent. Glad we got an early reservation to beat the dinner crowd as it was 4th of July week.
Highly recommend the Boathouse! We celebrated our anniversary and enjoyed an amazing meal! (Best Kentucky Mule, by the way!)
