We would have had a lovely stay if the housekeeper hadn't ENTERED OUR ROOM at 8:15 in the morning! The one and only morning that these two parents of small children had to actually wake up on our own in peace and quiet and housekeeping comes knocking on the door at 8:15am. We complained to the front desk at check out and they did apologize but then said, "well, they do knock twice before entering". Maybe so, but when you're awoken from a deep sleep you need more than just two knocks to respond.
Wonderful blend of history and modern convenience that made for an exceptional stay. Staff are clearly outstanding.
Beautiful grounds...great food and atmosphere ...I had the pleasure of staying a few years ago with our company Christmas party. Now I do a lot of photography sessions there...... beautiful surroundings
