I was a little disapointed but overall it was pretty good. – Parking is awful because there is none. The food was above average. Service and price were pretty good. Great place to watch people or have a casual meal with friends. I'll be back.
We recently spent 2 weeks in SLC. Driving by it looked crowded - good sign, so we checked it out. My boyfriend ordered 3 eggs, sunny-side up and toast. I ordered an omelette. His eggs were pure rubber. The seats at the tables were horribly uncomfortable metal. And our small breakfast for 2 totaled just shy of $20. Definitely not worth the price. Avoid this place - don't be fooled by the crowds eating there.
Unfriendly and Horrible customer service – My husband and I were on vacation in SLC. We've been to Blue Plate several times on our previous trip and were looking forward to going back, but this time we had a very frustrating experience. When we arrived we talked with the host and he said that we were next, but when a table opened up a group that was behind us in line just sat down. Best Breakfast on the cheap! – I went to the blue plate diner on a sunny saturday morning, the place was crowded but, Hey! thats means it's worth the wait. The food was to die for, and our very friendly waitress was a go! The owners Tamrika, and John are the most amazing people i have ever met. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito, it was outstanding i almost melted it was so good. i highly recommend it!!!
two thumbs down – horrible service. current experience is bias towards customers. if they dont like you they'll put laxatives in your food. please avoid
Fried Vegetarian Heaven – I love this restaurant. The veggie burgers (especially the chicken ones) are to die for, and the Cajun steak fries are excellent. The breakfast is also really good. Avoid at all costs on Sunday mornings unless you want to wait over an hour for a table.
must-eat-at, great food, awesome vegan/vegetarian options – I live around the corner and take all of my guests to this unpretentious neighborhood restaurant for breakfast. Try the vegan sausage - it's the best I've ever had!
AVOID the waitress named PRESH – The worst server at the diner. We went in the late afternoon and the place was empty. Our waitress took 5 minutes to even notice we were sitting in the booth. She takes our order and didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink. When we mentioned that we were interested in a couple milkshakes, she rolled her eyes and said "uh. sure" as if she didn't want to either make them or bring them to us. our food was excellent though! Great Food – Went to the Blue Plate for the first time. The food quality is excellent. The waitress was very nice. You can play the juke box for free. The prices were higher than we expected, but is was excellent food. Complaints: there was a musty smell to the place over by the booths. The lighting is horrible, dim and dreary. Otherwise we were pleased.
