Avoid Avoid Avoid – I don't know how this restraunt is still in Business. I drove from boulder and had never been to Historic Louisville. The only thing this restraunt has going for it is the location. Inside it is like a Sizzler with a bunch of weird old people. The food is so disgusting that I wanted to leave. The service was good, but I rather starve than eat that food ever again. For all you people putting in good reviews, where have you eaten prior to this, Jail? I think I rather eat Jail food. This place has been in se... read more

Great food for generations – I was really upset to see other reviewers comparing the Blue Parrot to those cookie cutter chain restaurants. I have been going there for 30 plus years. The food has been exactly the same wonderful food. It has been consistant every time I go. The noodles are not from a box and are actually homemade. The sauce has it's own unique flavor and is bottled and sold in stores all over the Denver Metro area. If the sauce was as terrible as some people claim, it wouldn't have been around so long. The atm... read more

Worst Red Sauce Ever! Horrible experience – I am a native to Colorado and have heard of the Blue Parrot for many years. I finally drove up there with my wife, three boys and mother all of us from Denver. This place is terrible! I should have read the reviews ahead of time, but had no clue they existed on the Internet. The staff was incredulous in having to stop reading the Sunday paper to seat us. The bread arrived without any bread plates. Glasses were handed out along with two crafts of water. So I could fill my own. What ... read more

Great Old town historical restaurant – With our towns Italian heritage, this restaurant has been a trademark for the Italians who live here. The blue parrot restaurant is not only a place to enjoy GREAT italian, homeade spaghetti, but it is always full of history and heritage. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves homeade, TRUE Italian food. The thick noddles melt in your mouth, and the sauce is very famous, but I recommend it on the side. It is sold in supermarkets everywhere- So, those who dislike it, defiantely ... read more

Simple meal gone YUCKY! – Had crooked pictures on the walls and chairs looked like they belonged in a senior centr. The waitress was very unfriendly, she barely made eye contact and had that "what do you want" attitude. The dinner salad looked like it was just iceberg thrown in a bowl. The bread was very rubbery. My boyfriend and I got spaghetti, I got a few ravioli's too. How hard is it to mess up spaghetti! The noodles were thick and mushy, and very pasty tasting. The sauce was VERY sour, tasted like it was scrapped from th... read more

Fire Hoses With Red Sauce How this place got its reputation is beyond me. The food is average at best and dismal at worst. The average age tends to be about 102. The spaghetti looks like fire hoses covered in red sauce. Better food can be found a block away at Pasquini's.

Best Italian food This restaurant is the best Italian Restaurant I have found. Their noodles are the freshest, best ever. The sauces are world class as well. My kids, who are very picky, clean their plates every time. The place is clean and service is always friendly. The prices are reasonable too.

Horrible Nursing Home Food and Environment!!! – My husband, best friend and I decided to try the Blue Parrot, due to its longevity. All of us have tried many Italian restaurants and think ourselves pretty knowledgeable when it comes to authentic, good Italian food (one of us lived in Italy with relatives). We thought the environment was like a nursing home, and the food was literally tossed down on the table as slop by a hasty, rude waitress! They even throw down a plastic mug of their Ragu-esque sauce to complement the poor... read more

Long time favorite – My family and I have been driving 40+ miles to the Blue Parrot from Denver for years. It is a unique restaurant. The homemade pasta is heavier than most because it is homemade. We think it is delicious, as is the sauce and the sausage. The salad is nothing special, but okay. We recently went there again after a long hiatus and were gratified to find that our long time impression of the restaurant was confirmed: the food was good and we had EXCELLENT service. Our waitress was very friendly (there were 13 ... read more
