This place has always been cool. .oh? You expected your trendy high class hipster bullshit? Well fuck you. Nobody cares. The fact is, blue note is a staple in Okc, you don't come for the service you come to support live local music and go home. Period. What an amazing establishment! I was there last night and a few times before, a great time every time. Awesome atmosphere, staff, and group of people! The addition of the patio area was a wonderful idea. A nice getaway from the indoor hustle and bustle. The bartenders, the people watching the door, and even the security guy were outstanding. After we have had several rounds, when my fiance mentions she is a bartender at another bar, the p.o.s. bartender in this establishment was a complete asshole to her, bringing up shit about us not tipping yet. Which we are still sitting here and still ordering drinks. If you're lacking inspiration or just want to have a moment to yourself for nothing but a free game of pool, this place has that homey comfort that still allows for unexpected surprises. Bands they book are not only odd, talented, boarder/boundary testing/ALWAYS exceptional, but also eclectic. Blue Note is that seemingly fictional place that inspires you to be weirdly awesome.
It was a lot of fun, good to see my friends niece & nephew...even though I felt like everyone's grandma!
