Amazing Seafood Paella – In a word delicious. The Paella bowl was so full, I could bare eat it all. My wife and I were passing thru Durham late, heading home from a Thanksgiving celebration in WInston-Salem. Durham seemed like a good place to stop for dinner. FANTASTIC FOOD, SERVICE AND OWNERS! – Ive been in the Blue Corn Cafe on numerous occasions and had nothing but great experiences. The food was amazing and is completely organic. Danielle, the owner took the time to personally explain that they cater to vegetarians and vegans, and the food is nothing shy of great. Consistently great! – As a patron of this restaurant for almost 14 years, I don't understand the negative posts from other reviewers of Blue Corn Cafe. I dine here weekly and the food and service never let me down. The portions are more than healthy and priced nicely, and the ingredients are always organic and fresh. My vegetarian and gluten-free friends always find something here, as most dishes can be made to order for special dietary needs. NO BUENO – I have been a frequent diner for years and most recently have found out some disturbing things about the Blue Corn Cafe and just had to share them with anyone who is thinking of visiting or has visited. The combos on the dinner menu state one price but when you get your bill you will find that's not what you pay, it will be more.If your not one to pay close attention to your check you will be taken. I rather eat at Cosmic Cantina..... – I felt compelled to share a terrible experience like this with the world! I went to this restaurant hoping to dine on authentic spanish cuisine according to what the spanish manager told me. horrible, servers are incredibly rude. AWFUL dining experience – The service and dining experience at blue corn is horrendous. I will never go back there again. The wait staff is incredibly rude. We should have left during the middle of the meal - it was that bad. I cannot imagine a worse dining experience.
The Worst Margarita on the Planet – My wife and I ate at Blue Corn this evening and we both feel absolutely violated by what could be the worst margarita ever. We ordered the Jumbo Gold at $8.50 and received a big heaping glass full of nasty commercial grade sours mix with a splash of tequila. Two hours later my stomach is still not right. My wife finished about 20% of hers and left the rest on the table...the waitress said nothing. Good food, horrendous service – My experience at the Blue Corn Cafe was less than what I would expect from any restuarant. They refused to serve me a glass of water to drink with my meal when I requested it. They said the best they could do was to give me a glass with ice in it and pointed me to the bathroom so I could fill my own glass up. When I go to a restaurant, it is to be served.
