Great place to get a tattoo – My boyfriend went here for a tattoo after a few recommendations from friends, and Margo drew exactly what he wanted. You can tell she took her time drawing it, rather than simply incorporating pieces of flash art to make his stencil. I went back to her when I wanted a piece done, and she did an absolutely amazing job, from the VERY custom drawing (Alice in Wonderland) to the actual inking. Good place, Great tattoo, but... – I went for my first tattoo, and it looks amazing! It was really simple and I got exactly what I wanted. The artist wasn't rude but not overly-friendly or anything. Same with the staff in the front. Make sure to call for an appointment! I had an appointment and only had to wait a few minutes. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes, which was great! awesome place good service. – Went to blue gorilla and set up an appointment, yes you have to set up an appointment ahead of time if you want service promptly, if you go in though without one they will still see you, it just takes time. My tattoo artist was named Chuck, very nice guy, very good artist. Chuck touched up an old tattoo I got from lucky sevens which lucky sevens messed up horribly, then added onto it. Will not return & I do not recommend. – Went to the Blu Gorilla while visiting Charleston. Got my first tattoo and I must say, its not good. The shading on it is horrible, and the outline and lettering not straight what-so-ever. The artist (who's name I can't remember) said he had been tattooing for 7 years, which must not be much because it just does NOT look good at all. I'm going somewhere else to have it corrected, and definitely will not go back there. I do not recommend this place. Sorry.

BluGorilla is the BEST !!! – Got my first "Charleston" tatoo yesterday from Tim @ BluGorilla. Really appreciated the way he interpeted my ideas- the design he drew while we were talking was EXACTLY what I wanted-must be able to read minds. This is the best place in Charleston........... Blu Gorilla is horrible! – I went to this "establishment" to get a very simple tattoo and was greeted by a gaggle of very rude and condescending "artists" that literally IGNORED me for over an hour! I announced myself when I arrived, and was told to wait in the waiting area as there were several others waiting before me...that was fine with me, until 2 very scantily clad girls walked in and IMMEDIATELY got attention!
